sophie 'n me
sophie and i are having so much fun lately. i love hangin' with my little sis. here are two of my most favorite recent photos of the two of us:
and here is sophie in front of a huge pile of toys i made for her:

sophie's latest news is she's learning to crawl. as you can see from this slide show, she can already get to anything she wants if she tries hard enough:

avocado baby
july!
hi again everyone!
i thought i'd post a few more pics showing what i've been up to. well, since i got back from italy, i've been spending my mornings at summer camp and my afternoons with my good friend becca and our babysitter, mary. we both adore mary. we do all kinds of projects with her. she comes up with all kinds of good ideas. for example, the other day during lunch, becca and i got really into mixing things together, like our applesauce and our yogurt. mary was a little disappointed that we didn't want to eat our creations, so she came up with the idea that we make something we would want to eat. so this first picture is of becca and i making breadsticks! they were so yummy, even though most of them weren't actually sticks. my favorites were the "mushy gushy" ones.
yesterday, my friend hannah had a big forth of july party at her house. i think my favorite part of the party was the sparklers:

ciao bella!
hi everyone!
sorry it's been so long since i've posted. i've been very busy having a fun summer. we just got back from italy, and i thought i'd post a few of my favorite pictures from our trip.
first, here are a few pictures that were taken at our villa in umbria. we had such a good time hanging out there. we ate lots of yummy food! sometimes we cooked, and sometimes a wonderful italian woman named albarosa came and cook delicious 4 course meals for us. there was so much food that we'd gobble up the scrumptious leftovers for days! as you can see, we spent lots of time in the pool. it was such a beautiful place, with views of the rolling umbrian hills from the pool. in the picture on the right, you can see me in my zebra. i love my zebra! i used to have to hold on to a grown up when i went in the pool (ema says maybe a more appropriate word is cling). but now that i have my zebra, i can float all over the pool and just hang out and play ball with everyone else.

sophie also had lots of fun hanging out poolside:

as nice as the villa was, we didn't spent all our time there. we also ventured out and explored the towns near by. here are pictures of us in panicale and in todi:

when we first arrived in umbria, there were lots of green and golden fields. during the two weeks we were there, we enjoyed watching the hay being mowed and baled and the wheat fields being harvested with big combines.

but i think the best of all was watching the green fields slowly turning yellow as the sunflowers started to open. by the time we were leaving, one of the fields a short walk from the villa was in full bloom, and my cousin vicky and ema took some nice pictures there:

on our last evening at the villa, we took dozens and dozens of pictures to remember our trip by. here are three of my favorites:

families who bathe together stay together part deux
one of the best things about our trip to california was the fact that d'or and her family were visiting from israel at the same time. she doesn't speak english and i only know a few words (like ema) in hebrew, but that didn't stop us from having a great time with each other. on our last night in california, we even took a bath together, which was a total blast!

pesach in yosemite
ema, sophie and i went to california last month. we had a great trip! for pesach, we went to yosemite. here are some of my favorite photos from our great day... (more photos from the rest of the trip coming soon)
kiva and i loved playing with berry & the trucks at the lodge:

and we had a great hike to carleton falls. savta helped make sure i stayed nice and safe when we were at the falls (and she made sure i put my waterfall in a good place, too!)

and to top off a great day, we had a seder too!

my favorite part of the seder was playing "peeskaboo" with adrienne and the other kids. we just loved whipping each other with green onions!

and we also had a blast looking for the afikomen (but not as much fun as dodo karen and berry seemed to be having with each other!)
