i had my first sleepover at grandmom and grandpa's new house last night. it was lots of fun. i didn't even miss ema and daddy very much. but after dinner, when i noticed it was dark outside, i thought it was time to get in the car and go home. and after my bath, when i realized chachi was at ema and daddy's house, i started to feel a little sad. but grandmom and grandpa reminded me how exciting it was that we were having a sleepover, and i got happy again.
ema and daddy sure missed out on all the fun we had this morning, starting at 5 am. grandmom, grandpa and i had a great time, but i was ready for my nap by the time ema and daddy came and took me home. i think grandmom was ready for hers, too.

alter egos
ema and daddy have a lot of different nicknames for me. lately, i've been using them in reference to myself, too. for example, the other day, ema said, "there you go, bucko," so i spent the next few days calling myself bucko. this morning, i had a tickle in my throat and i coughed. daddy thought it was funny and said, "hi coughey!" so all day today, i've been coughey. as in, "coughey want play trains," "coughey want cookie," and "what coughey talking about?!?" ema couldn't figure out why i was calling myself "coffee," until daddy set her straight.

the holy land
hi everybody!
we got back from israel on monday night. we were on a big airplane for a long, long time (i had two naps and doda karen played with me for a long time, so ema even got to rest some). after that, we got on a little airplane and even though i tried to stay awake, the next thing i knew, i woke up and it was really, really dark, but i was in my own crib at home and daddy was trying to shush me back to sleep. for the next few days, i kept waking up ready to play but the sun was still asleep, so ema and i would cuddle on the couch waiting for it to wake up so we could play.
we had a great time in israel. i wish i had pictures to prove it, but silly ema left the memory card for her camera at home, so we don't have any pictures to share with you. but ema said that if someone else has pictures that they e-mail her, she'll post them for everyone else to see.
i had so much fun with all the family, i don't even know where to begin telling you all about it! i'm not too shy to say that i have a big crush on inbar. she was always letting me sit on her lap, and whenever we were in a restaurant (seemed like all the time!) she was happy to take me outside to play, and she danced with me all night at the big party (the wedding). but i also loved everybody else i met and hung out with.
israel was lots of fun. the food was really good. i got to eat lots of hummus (which for some reason ema kept calling choomoos, even after i corrected her), i had lots and lots of soft white cheese, falafel, and all sorts of other yummy food.
i'll tell you one story before i sign off. i'm not sure why it's funny, but ema keeps telling everyone about it, and they laugh and laugh, so now i like to say the punch line all the time 'cuz i know it's funny! so, here it is: when we were at the airport, waiting to get on the plane, ema went up to the people working at the desk to ask a question. there were about six of them, and they all started smiling at me and saying how cute i was (i think people in israel really like curly blondes!). i asked ema, "what those people doing?" and she said, "these ladies are saying hi to you." so i looked up, grinning at them, and said, "hello ladies!"
